CURRENT SERVICE Options For Independence provides crisis counseling to individuals who were affected by Hurricane Katrina and Rita in the parishes of Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, Assumption. Counselors and outreach workers are canvassing affected neighborhoods to provide information and support services to individuals. Counselors and outreach workers are also presenting stress management classes, puppet shows and display tables aimed at disaster recovery and hurricane prevention.
PLANNED SERVICE The Options For Independence LA Spirit program plans to continue to provide disaster recovery services as community need dictates within the scope of the programs contracted services.

VOLUNTEER SKILLS TRAC, Presbyterian Disaster Relief, Houma Elks Lodge have partnered to provide housing, volunteer managment, construction management. The Good Earth Volunteer Village located on Coteau Rd Houma houses 100 volunteers.
